Hi, I’m jan mcleod.

A qualified counsellor. I’ve lived in Cornwall almost all my life and feel lucky to have my grown-up children and their families nearby. When I’m not working, I enjoy gardening, especially growing vegetables to cook and enjoy eating. I practise Pilates and enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I like to think of myself as a down-to-earth, easy-to-talk-to, and above all, a good listener.

I work with a wide range of life challenges, from feelings of general dissatisfaction and relationship issues to addiction and mental health concerns. People often come to me when experiencing anxiety, depression, confusion, resentment, loneliness, anger, frustration, or fear.

My Approach

I use the person-centered approach, which means I beleive that with the right support, everyone has the ability to find their own way to a more fulfilling life.

person centered aproach

At the heart of the person centred aproach is the belief that you are the expert on your own life. Counselling is not about being told what to do; it is about having the space to explore your thoughts and feelings, gain a deeper understanding of yourself, and find a path forwards that feels right for you.

my role

Is to provide a safe, confidential space where you can speak openly, knowing that I am here to listen without judgement and to support you as you work through life’s challenges.

‘Through a supportive and trusting relationship, personal growth and change can take place naturally.’

A Safe and Supportive Space

"I provide a warm, confidential, and non-judgemental environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace."

What this can help with:
Greater self-understanding, emotional clarity, and a sense of being heard.
